What's wrong with these cookies?
This is for all you Mom's who need a laugh today.... So I am in charge of making sugar cookies for Aspyn's class's holiday party. She has some kids with nut allergy's so the room mom said to go buy the dough. I finally found some that did not have nuts listed as one of the allergies and was so happy! This should be quick and fun just roll em' cut em' bake em'. The first batch my gingerbread men looked more like the stay puff marshmallow man. So I decided not to cut them out into shapes but rather cut them into slices. They were flatter than a pancake. So I say to myself just make them from scratch. First batch of dough all cut out and baked look a little dry but not bad same with the second on to the third and fourth batches of dough and it dawns on me I completely left out the Sugar!!!! Ha ha ha can you imagine all those kids wondering what was wrong with their not so sugary sugar cookies? Needless to say I am starting over. :) Next year I will ask to bring the juice boxes! I will post pics later!

Worst Blogger...Ever!
I really wish I knew how to do all those cool things all you people do with your blogs! Most of the time I can't even get things to post the way I want them to. I need Blogger for Dummy's or Blogger 101! At least I have the blog for those who are checkin in on us. Though it would help if I updated more often, wouldn't it?
For Thanksgiving we were invited over to our neighbors the Kessler's. They hosted both of their families so there were about 23 adults and 6 kids (my 6 and their 3). It was a huge feast. I don't know if I have ever seen so much food for one dinner! One Honey Baked Hame, a deep fried Turkey (thanks to Paul), another Turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole, potato casserole, stuffing, jello, pies, cake, scotchies, corn, and of course Pies! It was fantastic! Even though we missed our families we are very lucky to have been able to spend the day with them! Thank You Kesslers!
Roller skates anyone? A friend from church had her party at a roller skating rink. They rented out the entire place for a couple of hours. It was great! The kids absolutely loved it and they all now have rollerskates/blades on their Chirstmas lists! I didn't really get as many good photos of them as I thought :(

Hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas! This time of year is so hard for me to not be home. I miss everyone so much! I do have to say it is nice to not have to run here and there and everywhere all day on Christmas! We get to stay in our jammas all day if we want to! I love the traditions we have started with our kids. Making sugar cookies for Santa, Lighting our street with luminary's, and Christmas Eve jammas. We sometimes watch The Nativity (though I think we gave it to a neighbor and never replaced it? oops) and yummy breakfast and playing with the kids, napping, and being together as a family. I send our love to you all!
Now that the Chunker is crawling he gets into everything! His favorite thing right now is to crawl over to the guitar and strum. He even gets his little pointer finger out and plucks the strings! Maybe he will be our prodigy? If guitar playing doesn't work out for him he still has his looks!
Boo putting up the Star! Notice where all the ornaments are?
My baby boy is 6! Okay I know he really isn't my baby boy anymore he was replaced (as the baby) twice but still it is hard to believe that he is 6! That just seems so big to me. I will always remember the days they were all born but I think I will remember the day he was born the most.... just ask Paul why he tells it best!

Out Takes! So last minute I decided I needed a better pic for our Christmas cards. All I got were out takes. Not only is it ridiculously hard to get all 6 of them to look at the camera (at the exact same time) but I have to get smiles out of them too! They are cute either which way but just know when that card comes I tried I really did!
This one with the frame was supposed to be soo cute (at least that is how I had it pictured in my head) but it didn't really work! You win some You loose some right?

We really are alive ... just been under the weather
The kids playing dress-ups
At the pumpkin patch
So this is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite time of year. It used to be my absolute favorite. I couldn't wait for the leaves to change so I could go hike up the Canyon. To feel the cool crisp air, and to see all the leaves in amazing shades of oranges, yellows, and reds. Oh it makes me happy. Then when we moved here and I fell in love with hay rides, pumpkin patches, apple fritters, and cider but now that I have children and this time of year brings with it fevers, stuffy noses, and other not so fun bodily functions I have to say it is now my second favorite time of year! (sorry fall 4th of July is now #1) So we are here some of us well, some not so much. Either way we are all excited for Halloween. The kids can hardly sit still and I can't wait to see them all dressed up and having fun running house to house begging for treats! The huge smiles on their faces are priceless!

A quickie
So I wish I had time to post photos because I have some great ones but until then... We finished out the summer with a "camp" out in our friends backyard. We made dutch oven stew and cobbler and then let the kids make smores (btw strawberry marshmallow smores are yummy!) We were able to sit out by the fire for a bit after "tuckling" in all the kids. Then we hit the air mattresses. It only took telling the kids who were all in one tent to quiet down about a million times before they fell to sleep. And then it rained. NO actually it poured. Poor AJ was laying in a puddle her sleeping bag was soaked! So it didn't take long before we all took shelter in the house. The guys cooked breakfast and then we all loaded up and headed to Cowan Lake. We let the kids play until dinner and then we came home and got ready for school to start the next day.
Everyone had really great first days of school. J and B have to be up by 6 am to get on the bus by 7. It is early. They are having an easier go of it than I am. (not saying much I have Never been a morning person). And then round two is AJ and K. They are the lucky ones and don't have to be up until 8. K goes to kindergarten Tuesday and Thursday and then every other Friday all day! He loves it and could go everyday and be just fine. The after school Grouchies have returned with a vengeance. Homework is rough... they are tired, hungry, and moody. Not my favorite time of day. I have been trying to get them outdoors while the weather is still good. They of course would rather veg in front of the TV. I keep telling them we can do that when it is freezing cold outside. J started 5th grade band and he is playing percussion and can now play Mary Had a Little Lamb. I am excited for him that is definitely an opportunity that he wouldn't have until way later in school if we were out West so chalk one up to the East.
Lots more to write but I have a baby boy who needs to be nursed to sleep and some floors that are in major need of some mopping before the big kids get home in less than 2 hours. YIKES!

See Jake See Denae See Jake and Denae
We are so glad Denae found a new job and that she just happened to be doing her training in Columbus! It was so great to have them come and spend a night with us. They are so fun to be around and the kids just couldn't get enough of them! (they are a bit deprived when it comes to aunts and uncles!) Next time stay a week! So good to see you guys!
