Best Husband Ever

We finally got the kitchen painted (again). The first paint job was white we just wanted a better paint than the crappy builders stuff they put on but after a few years and 5 kids leaving their marks the walls even after scrubbing them just looked dingy. So P waited and waited for me to pick a color. I like lots of colors hence the problem -which one would not only look good but would I like the best? I don't have a knack for decorating so it took me FOREVER to decide. Once I did P got the job done! Before leaving for Detroit he painted the baby\JC's room and the kitchen. He really worked hard and it looks so much better and even feels cleaner. I have to say I have the best hubby ever! Once he starts projects I can always count on him getting them done (and in a timely manner)! Now if only I was as dependable. I need to do the "finishing" touches but I really don't want to hang all the old stuff up so I am waiting to be inspired by something and to find my own personal style! Now for the dinning room, and the boys room, and the bathrooms, everything needs to be redone or done to begin with. And if I ever get it done I will post photos. :)

Merry Christmas!! Happy New Year!!!

These photos are slightly out of order so we will start from the bottom and go up...
The kids got to see Santa at our ward Christmas party. JC wanted nothing to do with him. She does like to sing about Santa she walks around singing Jingle Bells and Ho Ho Ho, B was positive that it wasn't the "real" Santa but everyone else seemed very happy to see him.
We have made a tradition of doing a gingerbread house usually we help the kids decorate it but this year we let them do it. We did cheat a little this year and bought a house that was already put together but they did do a fine job with the decorating.
We also made sugar cookies for Santa. This tradition started a few years back when P was out traveling and stuck on the roads because of the weather. I was just a bit nervous about that and decided the kids and I needed a project so luckily we had stuff on hand to make the cookies. We had a ton of fun making a mess and we now make them every year.
We also give the kids new Christmas jammies. I love seeing how they have grown every year in the photos we take under the tree. Sometimes P and I get jammies too but it seems like the last few years we have just let them enjoy that tradition. They are so stinking cute!
Our street (well, a few of us) put luminaries out to help guide Santa were to land! I love how pretty they are. I am so glad we have such a smart neighbor who suggested we do this!
Christmas was wonderful! Our kids were happy and they all loved there presents. No complaining! We had a nice cozy day at home with one another. I made creme brule french toast for breakfast, and we made a frozen lasagna for dinner (yes it was Stauffers but I think it will be something we do every year it was wonderful not to have to cook and it tasted great!). We played the Wii, built Lego's, listened to Jonas Bros, and Hannah Montanna (thanks to the i-dogs the girls got). A got a stomach bug in the afternoon, and that snowballed to B being sick, then J, K and P haven't felt great, and JC has had an ear infection, cold and cough, but we are finally all starting to recover (just in time for school!)
For New Years we went to our neighbors. I didn't get a good photo by the time midnight rolled around we had some cranky kids and they had no interest in being in a photo. Oh well, better luck next year! :)

That's it for now.. I hope this new year is fantastic for all of you!
